SASSA has announced payment schedules for different grant types for the year 2025. The Child Support Grant payment of R560 will assist caregivers and will be paid on September 5, 2025. The Old Age Grant for elderly citizens will be paid in August 2025, and payments will begin on the first of the month. This payment schedule allows elderly citizens to budget their finances.
Disability Grant holders will receive their payment of R2,315 on August 16, 2025. All beneficiaries should ensure their banking details are accurate to avoid payment interruptions.
Launching New Grant Application Review Procedures!
Beginning on September 10, 2025, SASSA will begin the review process by focusing on specific grants to ensure ongoing payments by SASSA to recipients are restricted to those who are truly eligible.
This review process is necessary to ensure the integrity of the system and to avoid payment of grants based on false claims.
People who do not participate in this review may have their payments suspended until their status is confirmed. Preparations should be made early to ensure the following list of documents is on hand:
Proof of identity documents!
Evidence of income or unemployment payment received in the last three months
Other documents pertaining to the medical review if applicable.
Guidelines put in place to Protect Yourself When Collecting Grants
SASSA advise beneficiaries to have trusted individuals accompany them to the payment point, and ensure the amount received is not revealed until SASSA payments are collected.
It is safe to use the ATM or partner retailers than keep cash for long hours in public. For receiving the grants, banking transfers are the most secure option.
